Yacht market reports
Market conditions decide how much negotiating room a buyer has, and the answer differs sharply between the used, superyacht and volume boat segments. These reports track each one.
A market report is only useful to a buyer if it changes what you do. These are written to answer three questions: is inventory rising or falling in my size band, are asking prices holding or sliding, and how long are vessels sitting before they sell. Time on market is usually the most actionable of the three, because it tells you how hard to negotiate.
The used market and the new-build order book move independently and frequently in opposite directions, which is why they are reported separately here rather than averaged into a single headline.
Each report states its sources and the period covered. Where data is indicative or partial, it is labelled rather than smoothed.

Common questions
Conditions favour buyers more than they did during the 2021 to 2022 shortage. Used inventory has rebuilt in most size bands and time on market has lengthened, which restores negotiating room, particularly on vessels that have already had one price reduction. The used yacht market report covers the current picture by segment.
They tell you how hard to negotiate. Rising inventory and lengthening time on market mean a seller has fewer alternatives, which is worth more at the offer stage than any amount of preparation. Falling inventory in your size band means moving quickly on the right vessel rather than waiting for a better one.
Brokerage listing and sold data, builder delivery and order-book disclosures, and industry association volume figures, with the period and source stated in each report. GlobalYachtGuide is independent and does not list yachts, so the reports are not written to support a sales position.
